What is your turnaround time?

Our normal turnaround time for each job is 3-5 business days.

What is a Digital Capture (now called a Single Capture) ?

Single Captures are taken at our studio in downtown LA.

Studio Single Captures are taken for artists wanting to have their artwork digitally captured on the location off-site.

The images cost the same per piece but a location fee is added to those jobs that are shot on location.

What is a Fine Art Capture (now called a Multi Capture) ?

Fine Art Captures are now called Multi Captures. They are created to match size with the original artwork by taking multiple macro exposures, then merging them together ending up with extremely sharp large Tiff files which are often used to make fine art prints as large as the original.

Where can I get Fine Art Color Prints made after you've taken Multi or Single Captures of my artwork?

I would suggest that you get in touch with Grace or Jeremy at the POV Printing Studio ( https://fineartprinting.la ) which is a printing studio that co-exists in the building as my photo studio.

Do you ever work with a Photo Assistant?

When the paintings or sculptures are too large, too fragile, or both at the same time, I will hire a Photo Assistant to make sure that nothing gets damaged during the photo shoot whether I’m at my studio or if I’m working on location.

How much do you charge for rush services?

These rush charges are used when a client needs same-day or next-day service and the studio is already working on jobs that would need to stop mid-stream in order to meet this new deadline from this new client.

The same-day service is a 100% additional fee.

The next business day service is a 75% additional fee.

Normal Service is between 3-5 Business days.

How many different file types are delivered to me per piece of artwork?

3-files of each piece are delivered to you via We Transfer.

1-Large TIFF file (depending on the size of your original) ideal for archiving, post-processing, and especially well suited for printing. Its file size would depend on the original. This large TIFF file would be delivered at the size requested and at 300 DPI unless you would like to have it created at 600 DPI instead. Those decisions are made over text or the phone before the work is delivered. The client can use our price list to figure out how much everything would cost or I could send you an estimate beforehand.

1-Medium JPEG file 8” x 10” at 300 PPI  (4-6 MB) can be used for printing but is not suggested for post-processing or for archiving.

1-Small JPEG file 8” x 10” at 100 PPI at  (750 KB) is most often used for social media and in building websites

Do you charge a location fee?

We charge a $250 location fee while shooting Single or Multi Captures on location. Sometimes an artist’s home or studio will not have sufficient space to complete Captures on Locations on location.  In this case, I can offer different alternative delivery methods helping you to get your artwork to my photo studio properly and professionaly.

Do you charge extra for unstretched canvases?

Yes, we do. This fee depends on how complicated it will be to mount your artwork. The heavier the piece the larger the fee.

Do you capture paintings or drawings that are already framed behind glass or plexiglass?

Yes, we do for a small set-up fee for the entire shoot versus per piece.

Are my files color-corrected before delivery?

Yes, all files that are delivered are color corrected, using Photoshop in post-production. Artwork is captured with color charts and we use that information under color-corrected light in post-production to match your files with the original artwork.

How are my files delivered to me?

All completed files are emailed to you via We Transfer. If you would like everything on a thumb drive then bring your home drive with you when picking up your originals and your completed files can be uploaded onto your thumb drive.
